I am an elementary school principal at a “highly impacted” school. This basically means most of the kids at our school are poor, minority, come from single parent homes, and often do not speak English as their primary language. I care deeply about education. I strongly believe it is every child’s civil right to learn how to read, compute, and understand algebra. I love to laugh. I love to tie shoes for little people. I secretly love the fact that kids want to run everywhere they go because they can hardly wait to get there . . .lunch, recess, reading group, library, anywhere. My dream is to have more than 80% of our students proficient on end of year tests. It can be done.
